Today we’re looking at the attributes of Christ that the Holy Spirit is declaring and illuminating for us on the Table of Showbread. This subject is so vast, we’ve devoted two articles to this topic and we’re still only scratching the surface.

Yeshua and the Torah

Yeshua is the Way, the Truth and the Life

John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

Torah is the Way

Ps 119:1 Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of יהוה!

Prov 6:23 For the commandment is a lamp, and the law a light; reproofs of instruction are the way of life

Deut 30:15-16 “See, I have set before you today life and good, death and evil, in that I command you today to love יהוה your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments, His statutes, and His judgments, that you may live and multiply; and יהוה your God will bless you in the land which you go to possess.

The Torah is Truth

Neh 9:13 You came down also on Mount Sinai, and spoke with them from heaven, and gave them just ordinances and true laws, good statutes and commandments.

Ps 119:142 Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and Your law is truth.

Ps 119:151 You are near, O יהוה, and all Your commandments are truth.

Psa 119:160 The entirety of Your word is truth, and every one of Your righteous judgments endures forever.

Psa 19:9-11 The fear of יהוה is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of יהוה are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them Your servant is warned, and in keeping them there is great reward.

The Torah is Life

Deut 30:15-16 “See, I have set before you today life and good, death and evil, in that I command you today to love יהוה your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments, His statutes, and His judgments, that you may live and multiply; and יהוה your God will bless you in the land which you go to possess.

Psa 119:50 This is my comfort in my affliction, for Your word has given me life.

Psa 119:93 I will never forget Your precepts, for by them You have given me life.

Pro 6:23 For the commandment is a lamp, and the law a light; reproofs of instruction are the way of life.

Matt 19:17 So He said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.”

Yeshua is the Light

John 8:12 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

The Torah is Light

Ps 119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

Pro 6:23 For the commandment is a lamp, and the law a light; reproofs of instruction are the way of life.

Yeshua is Holy

Luke 4:34 saying, “Let us alone! What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? I know who You are—the Holy One of God!

The Torah is Holy

Lev 7:1 Likewise this is the law of the trespass offering (it is most holy):

Rom 7:12 Therefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy and just and good.

Yeshua is the Word of God

John 1:1-2 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.

John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

Rev 19:13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.

The Torah is the Word of God

Ex 20:1-3 And God spoke all these words, saying: “I am יהוה your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before Me…”

Ex 24:4 And Moses wrote all the words of יהוה. And he rose early in the morning, and built an altar at the foot of the mountain, and twelve pillars according to the twelve tribes of Israel.

Isa 1:10 Hear the word of יהוה, You rulers of Sodom; Give ear to the law of our God, You people of Gomorrah:

Isa 2:3 Many people shall come and say, “Come, and let us go up to the mountain of יהוה, to the house of the God of Jacob; He will teach us His ways, and we shall walk in His paths. For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of יהוה from Jerusalem.”

John 15:25 But this happened that the word might be fulfilled which is written in their law, “They hated me without a cause.”

The Torah became human!

John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

Deut 6:6 And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart.

Do you have Yeshua the Word, the Torah in your heart?

Yeshua is God, and God is Good

John 1:1-2 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.

Ps 107:1 Oh, give thanks to יהוה, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.

Ps 34:8 Oh, taste and see that יהוה is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!

Matt 19:17 So He said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.”

The Torah is Good

Neh 9:13 You came down also on Mount Sinai, and spoke with them from heaven, and gave them just ordinances and true laws, good statutes and commandments.

Rom 7:12 Therefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy and just and good.

Rom 7:16 If, then, I do what I will not to do, I agree with the law that it is good.

1 Tim 1:8 But we know that the law is good if one uses it lawfully,

Yeshua is Righteous

2 Pet 1:1 Simon Peter, a bondservant and apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who have obtained like precious faith with us by the righteousness of our God and Saviour Jesus Christ

1 John 2:1 My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.

Heb 1:8-9 But to the Son He says: “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of Your kingdom. You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; therefore God, your God, has anointed You with the oil of gladness more than Your companions.”

The Torah is Righteous

Deut 4:8 And what great nation is there that has such statutes and righteous judgments as are in all this law which I set before you this day?

Rom 8:4 …that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

The opposite of Righteousness is Lawlessness (Torahlessness) – and Yeshua hates it

1 John 3:4 Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness (transgression of the law/ Torahlessness).

Rom 6:13 And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin (lawlessness/ transgression of the law), but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.

So in the Tabernacle we have Christ the Torah (as represented by the 10 commandments) in the Ark (He is God), Christ the complete Torah in the presence of יהוה in the Most Holy Place (our great High Priest) and Christ the Torah on the table of showbread (giving us life). He is the only one who can freely go into the presence of the Most Holy Place and come back into the holy place, Yeshua the Word made flesh.
